Approach

We take an individual approach to ultraman training. Every athlete is different, and we believe that a training program should follow you, instead of you following the program. The structure of the ultraman coaching program is centered around the concept of specificity i.e. the closer you get to race day, the more race-specific the training becomes. In general, the training is phased as 1) transition from prior season 2) focus on areas for improvement 3) laying the foundation 4) race specific prep 5) race 6) back to transition. Over the course of several years, the idea is to maximize your strengths, overcome your weaknesses, and ultimately achieve your potential in the sport.

Coach Rob Gray

Rob Gray is an experienced athlete and endurance coach, with many of his athletes regularly achieving podium places and qualifying for Kona.  He also works with time-constrained executives who just want to finish their event and achieve the maximum fitness with the limited time that they have available.

In 2016 Rob won Ultraman Florida and placed 2nd at the Ultraman World Championships in Hawaii. He has completed 14 Ironman races and has qualified for the World Championships in Kona for 4 consecutive years.
